Stewart Code

Websites

Web design for service businesses across the US

The short answer

What Stewart Code builds, and for whom

Stewart Code is a web design company that builds fast, search-ready websites for service businesses anywhere in the US, at fixed prices published on this site. Every page we build is tested to score 100 in Lighthouse before launch (our build standard), you own the domain, code and accounts from day one, and the person who scopes your site is the person who builds it.

Most of our work is for owner-led trades, home-service and specialty-contractor companies, the kind of business where one good lead is worth more than the website. If that is you, the contractor hub goes deeper. To see how different trades can look, try the design samples with your own company name. What you get

Four ways to start, one standard for all of them

Pick the build that matches where your business is today. Each one links to a page that explains it in full.

01

A first real website

For a business that has outgrown a template or a page someone's nephew built. Up to 5 pages, written from an interview with you, not from a stock template.

  • Custom design, copy and schema
  • Quote form and booking
  • Google Business Profile setup if eligible

Small business websites

02

A site built around how trades sell

Service pages, service-area pages, project photos and a quote form that works one-handed on a phone.

  • One page per service you want more of
  • Review-request flow
  • Tap-to-call on every screen

Contractor websites

03

A store that sells online

Shopify or a custom Stripe checkout, with product markup Google can read and a feed for free product listings.

  • Product import and schema
  • Shipping and returns spelled out
  • Quoted after a scoping call

Ecommerce websites

04

A redesign that keeps what works

A new site on top of an old one, with every old address kept or redirected so the search traffic you already earn has somewhere to land.

  • Full redirect map before launch
  • Ranking reports at 30, 60 and 90 days
  • Every redirect checked after launch

Every option is on the pricing page, and our website cost guide shows how these compare with typical market ranges. For a site you already have, there are fixed-price speed and accessibility fixes, and a single landing page for an ad or offer.

Before you hire anyone

Ten questions to ask any web designer

Ask us these too. A good answer is specific and written down. A vague answer is the answer.

  1. Who owns the domain, hosting account and code when we're done? It should be you, in your name, with your login.
  2. What exactly is in the price, and what costs extra? Get page count, number of revisions and who writes the copy in writing.
  3. How will you measure speed, and on what device? "It's fast" is not a measurement. Ask for Google PageSpeed Insights results on mobile.
  4. Will the structured data pass Google's Rich Results Test? Ask to see a site they built run through it.
  5. What happens to my current pages and their Google traffic? If they don't mention redirects, you will lose some of it.
  6. Who writes the words? A designer who expects you to supply all copy is selling a layout, not a website.
  7. Where do form submissions go, and who tests that they arrive? A broken form is the most expensive bug a service business can have.
  8. What does it cost each month after launch, and can I leave? Know the minimum term before you sign.
  9. Who will I actually talk to? The salesperson and the builder are often different people.
  10. What do you promise about rankings? The honest answer is nothing specific. Google itself says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking (Google Search Central, checked 2026-10-27).

Not sure where your current site stands? X-ray it next to ours. A test takes 20 to 60 seconds and shows Google's speed, accessibility, best-practice and SEO scores, real-user speed data when Google has it, and a one-click link to Google's Rich Results Test for your markup.

How a build runs

Five stages, each with something you can check

Discover

A call and a written brief: your services, service area, competitors and the questions customers ask before they hire you.

Design

A mockup with your real words on it. Nothing gets built until you approve it.

Build

Built against our published standard, with speed, accessibility and schema checked on every change.

Prove

Before launch you get each page's scores and the schema report, the same kind of evidence we publish for this site on /proof/.

Grow

Optional care plans keep the site updated, monitored and improving after launch.

Questions

Web design questions owners ask us

How long does a new website take?

A Launch, Growth or Signature website is finished within 7 days of the day you approve the mockup and send your content, whether the site is small or large. Online stores and platform builds are quoted with their own timeline. Approving the design is where most of the waiting happens, so the faster we get your answers and photos, the sooner you launch. After launch, edits are done within two business days.

Do I have to write the content myself?

No. We write the copy from an interview with you, then you check it for accuracy. You know your trade; we know how to put it on a page so people and search engines understand it.

Can you make my site rank first on Google?

No one can promise that, and Google says so. We control the build: every page is tested to score 100 in Lighthouse before launch, the structured data is checked for zero errors, and the price we quote is the price you pay.

What if I already have a website?

Then we treat it as a redesign. Every old address is mapped to a new one before launch, so customers and Google don't hit dead pages. The redesign page explains how.

Do you work with businesses anywhere in the US?

Yes. We work remotely, nationwide. Calls are by phone or video, and the build itself works the same wherever you are. Work outside the US is available by request.
