Ecommerce websites that Google can read and customers can trust

The short answer

What an ecommerce build from us covers

Stewart Code builds online stores on Shopify or as a custom Stripe checkout, with product markup that makes your pages eligible for Google's shopping features and a product feed for free listings. It suits businesses anywhere in the US selling parts, supplies, materials, merch or gift cards alongside their main service, as well as product-first shops.

Every store is quoted after a scoping call, because the number of products, variants and integrations sets the work. This page helps you decide which platform fits before that call.

Pick a platform

Shopify or a custom Stripe store?

Neither is always better. This is the table we use on scoping calls.

QuestionShopify points to yesCustom Stripe points to yes
Do you have more than a few dozen products with variants?Yes: its catalog and inventory tools are built for thisLess so: custom catalogs cost more to build
Will your staff add products every week?Yes: the admin is familiar and well documentedPossible, with an admin we build to your workflow
Do you sell a handful of items, deposits, or service bookings?Often overkillYes: a light checkout with no monthly app stack
Do you need quotes, subscriptions or custom pricing rules?Usually through paid appsYes: built in, priced from one source
Is page speed on mobile a priority?Good with discipline: apps and themes add weightYes: we control every byte

If what you really need is a portal, an ordering tool for trade accounts or a pricing calculator, that is closer to a web app than a store, and we scope it that way.

What you get

Included in an online store build

01

Product pages that rank and convert

Unique product copy where it matters, clear photos, specs in a readable table, and Product markup with price, availability and reviews only when the reviews are real.

02

Shipping and returns, marked up

Google's merchant listing guide supports shipping details and a return policy in structured data, so those facts can show in results (Google Search Central, checked 2026-10-27). We set both up.

03

Merchant Center and free listings

We connect a Google Merchant Center account in your name and set up the product feed for free listings.

04

Import and launch checks

Your existing products imported, old product URLs redirected, and a full test order run on the live store before you announce it.

Checklist

Product page checklist you can run on any store

Open your best-selling product page on your phone and check each line.

  1. The price and whether it's in stock are visible without scrolling.
  2. Shipping cost, or how it's worked out, is stated on the page, not only at checkout.
  3. The return policy is one tap away and written in plain words.
  4. Every photo has a text description for screen readers and image search.
  5. The product name is in the page title and the main heading, written how buyers search for it.
  6. Google's Rich Results Test finds a Product with no errors.
  7. "Add to cart" responds immediately when tapped.
  8. Checkout offers the wallets your buyers use, such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Fail three or more and the page is probably costing you sales. The X-ray gives you Google's speed scores for the page, and a link to the Rich Results Test for the product markup.

Questions

Ecommerce website questions

How much does an ecommerce website cost?

It depends on product count, variants and integrations, which is why stores are quoted after a short scoping call. You get a written price before any work starts.

Will my products show up in Google Shopping?

We set up the markup and the Merchant Center feed so your products are eligible for free listings. Google decides what it shows and where.

Can you move my store from another platform?

Yes. We import products, map every old product and category URL to its new address, and redirect them so existing search traffic and links keep working.

Who owns the store and the customer data?

You do. The store account, payment account and Merchant Center are set up in your name from day one.

Do you handle payment processing?

Payments run through your own Shopify Payments or Stripe account. Money goes straight to you, never through us.
