Search · Technical SEO
The short answer
Technical SEO makes sure Google can find, read and trust every page on your site: it can crawl them, it understands what they are, and they load fast on a phone. On every site we build it's included from day one; for a site you already have, we audit it and fix what's holding it back.
It's the least visible part of SEO and the easiest to get wrong. A contractor's site can look fine and still have half its service pages blocked from Google, a logo Google can't use, a homepage that takes six seconds to load on a phone, or structured data errors that hide its details from search results. None of that shows up until you test for it.
What you get
01 · Crawl
02 · Schema
03 · Speed
04 · Sitemaps and access
Use this yourself
These are Google's own thresholds where Google publishes one. Run each tool on your homepage and your busiest service page.
| Check | Target | Free tool |
|---|---|---|
| Largest Contentful Paint (load) | 2.5 seconds or less | PageSpeed Insights |
| Interaction to Next Paint (response to taps) | 200 milliseconds or less | PageSpeed Insights |
| Cumulative Layout Shift (jumping) | 0.1 or less | PageSpeed Insights |
| Structured data | Zero errors | Rich Results Test, Schema.org validator |
| Pages indexed | Every page you want found, nothing you don't | Search Console, Pages report |
| Sitemap | Submitted, no errors, only live pages | Search Console, Sitemaps report |
| HTTPS | Every page, no mixed-content warnings | Your browser's address bar |
| Accessibility | No automated errors, then a keyboard-only pass | WAVE |
The three Core Web Vitals thresholds are measured at the 75th percentile of real visits, per Google's Web Vitals guide (checked 2026-10-27). PageSpeed Insights shows real-visitor data only when a site has enough traffic; smaller sites see lab scores alone.
Proof
Two of the launch checks cover technical SEO directly:
At launch we check every page template we build in Google's Rich Results Test and the Schema.org validator. Google decides which rich results to show; we make sure the markup is error-free.
Before a Speed Sprint starts, we agree a written target, and we report the measured result against it.
This site is held to the same standard. Measured scores are on /proof/, you can check any page with the X-ray toggle in the header, and how we build is on /standard/. Fast, error-free pages help Google read your site; they don't by themselves win a ranking, and Google says no one can guarantee first place.
Prices
New builds include all of this. For an existing site: the Speed Sprint fixes your top templates, the Accessibility Fix brings them to WCAG 2.2 AA, and the Deep Audit gives you the full list first.
Your existing site's top 10 templates brought to good Core Web Vitals.
$1,200
A WCAG 2.2 AA audit and remediation of up to 15 templates.
From $1,500
A person reviews up to 25 of your pages and gives you a prioritized fix list.
$490
Process
Run the Site X-ray, crawl the site and pull Search Console. Every problem goes on one list with its page.
A written target per fix, before work starts. Some platforms limit what's possible; we tell you that up front.
Fixes go in with a re-test after each change, so nothing new breaks.
Before and after scores, the schema report and links so you can re-run every test yourself.
FAQ
Google uses page experience signals, including Core Web Vitals, as part of ranking, but relevant content matters more. Speed matters most for people: a slow site on a phone loses callers before the page loads. We fix it for both reasons.
Often partly. WordPress can usually be improved a lot. Hosted builders control much of their own code, so there's a ceiling. The Deep Audit tells you where that ceiling is before you pay for fixes.
Code in the page, invisible to visitors, that tells search engines facts in a fixed format: your business name, phone, services, area served and logo. It helps Google and AI tools read your details correctly.
It can, if old addresses break. When we rebuild a site, every old URL either still works or redirects to its new home, and we check every redirect after launch. See website redesign.
Much of what makes a page usable with a screen reader or keyboard (real headings, labels, link text, alt text) is also what helps search engines understand it. And it lets more of your customers use the site.
Next step
The X-ray shows Google's own scores for your site in about a minute. A scoping call turns them into a plan.
